Creme de la Creme - I need your help.

Ok so I want to submit a post for Mels Creme de la Creme but I can't decide which post.
So I need your help to decide please. I must say it has been really difficult reading back to some of these posts. I have spent a good part of the morning crying.

Here are the ones I am thinking about posting.
Thank you and Goodbye.
Two Weeks
Mr Sparkles and the Love Notes
The Big Plastic Bag

So which one do you think?

Hi Vee,
SO hard to choose, but I would have to say "two weeks". Still makes me tear up reading it again.

Hard choice, I would choose the big plastic bag.

I love the love notes, but would choose either Two Weeks or The Big Plastic Bag. Very hard choice.

I would pick The Big Plastic Bag & the Mr. Sparkles post is a close second.

((hugs)) I'm finding that task too hard too.

I vote for Two Weeks.

I would do exactly opposite of Kristin--Mr. Sparkles first; Plastic Bag second.

My vote goes with the 'big plastic bag', then maybe 'mr sparkles'.

I'd vote either Two Weeks or The Big Plastic bag.

I'm going to place Mr. Sparkles first. They're all good, but that post captures "Max" rather than a moment, and I think that the moments from this year are so enormous, that it may be meaningful to capture the scope of the man. And your enormous love.

and now I'm going to be crying all morning. Wow...how my heart hurts with you when I read these.

I love the Mr Sparkles post too..it's the essence of the both of you..and I love that.
while the "big Plastic bag" is so poignant and my 2nd choice, it's Mr Sparkles that has me smiling through my tears.

love ya Vee.

Well, this will just confuse things, right? But I just re-read them all now and they are all unique and powerful ... but I vote for Two Weeks. Because there is something universal in there, told with brilliant honesty. The impossibility of perfection in caregiving ... the universal truth that we are all human and no one is a walking ideal ... and the poignancy we have when we look back at even the most critical times in our lives and we feel that we fall short of "ideal" of "should have done." It is a reminder that we must forgive ourselves somehow. It is a reminder that grace among the wreckage is hard and grace doesn't always look or feel the way we expect it to. Sometimes grace is only in the eye of the beholder. I can't quite put my finger on it ... it just seems to me the heart of this one might help someone else. Or at least there would be profound recognition in it for most everyone who reads it. It touches something that goes to the heart of our lives, whether we've lived this kind of challenge yet or not.

Speaking of living challenges, this blog will be hard for you to read (?), but the author just lost her parnter after a long struggle with illness and she is also raising a young son. If BTDT is a comfort, if it's not to upsetting to relive painful things in another story, maybe you might find some mutual support here:

For me, it's Two Weeks, with Big Plastic Bag as a second choice. Both are so moving. PaleMother said everything better than I could, it's as if she crystallized my thoughts into words.
Big hugs to you all xxx including Mitzy

For me, Mr Sparkles by a country mile. I re-read them all, and it was hard for ME, so can't imagine how it felt for you. All four of them are very moving.

Four good choices.

Based on strength of reaction, it would have to be two weeks. The post is just so raw. But Big Plastic Bag is full of so much longing, too. I also appreciate Mel's point about remembering Max in general, rather than a few moments here and there towards the end, but I suppose it depends what you want this year. Perhaps you agree with Mel's view, or perhaps you think the bigger picture should wait til the more recent past is taking up less of your view. I doubt you'll stop writing about him in 2011, so there'll be other chances.

My vote is for Mr. Sparkles. It shows Max and his traits, exposing his playfulness, his love, his life more than all the others. While the others are poignant as well, they're more... I don't know... personal I think. More about your thoughts, feelings, grief and pain with Max's passing. Those are so precious; a very personal window into your soul. While Mr. Sparkles illustrates your relationship with Max. And that is so very beautiful in my view; share it with others. Whichever one you choose, I am glad you are submitting something Vee. It's a lovely way to cherish Max and show the blogging world a bit of his life. *hugs* always.
